Areephun Named Conference USA Men’s Golfer of the Week

DALLAS, Texas – University of Delaware junior men's golfer Arsit Areephun has been named the Conference USA Men's Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday. The award, which is the second of the season for Areephun and fourth of his career, recognizes his performance at the Palmas del Mar Collegiate this past week in Puerto Rico.
In Delaware's first event of the spring, Areephun tied his season-low for a 54-hole score with a 7-under par 209. After carding a 75 during Sunday's opening round, he carded a 10-under par over the final 36 holes to climb from 38th place into a tie for third in the individual standings. Areephun finished with 14 total birdies for the tournament, including 12 in the final two rounds. His score of 134 over the final two rounds is tied for the fifth-best 36-hole score in program history. Delaware turned in the third-lowest score during Tuesday's final round, finishing at 9-under par 279 to climb into a tie for 12th place.

Delaware will return to action in late March when it travels to Williamsburg, Virginia for the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate, hosted by William & Mary. The two-day, three-round tournament will be held March 23-24.
