Women's Swimming & Diving Wins ASUN Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Delaware women's swimming & diving team won its first Atlantic Sun (ASUN) Championship Saturday evening during the Fightin' Blue Hens inaugural season in the league. UD finished with a score of 1,627, just ahead of FGCU with 1,619.
This is the team's sixth conference championship in program history and first since the 1997 America East Championship. Head Women's Swimming & Diving Coach Pablo Marmolejo was awarded ASUN Women's Swimming Coach of the Year and senior Angelica Ragazzoni received the Most Outstanding Women's Swimmer of the Meet after winning five races.

RESULTS
- Opening up the night session in the 1650-free, Delaware had two swimmers medal as Lauren Hartel took first at 16:30.48, while Elisa Spera placed third with a time of 16:45.41.
- The Hens took two medals in the 200-back, with Ragazzoni placing first with a program record time of 1:56.82. Aleksandra Dimitrova notched the freshman record, finishing third with a time of 1:58.29.
- In the 200-breast, Piper Price and Bri Cottingham took second and third place, respectively. Price set the freshman record by 1.96 at 2:13.21, while Cottingham raced to a time of 2:13.72.
- The 400-free relay clinched the championship for Delaware as Ragazzoni came through in the clutch, swimming the final 100 yards in 49.90.
- Sarah Agdern placed fifth in the platform dive at 185.70.
